Petition calling on Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) to allocate a site in the Abbots Langley area for a new secondary school and build the promised primary school
Hertfordshire County Council is aware of the need for a new Secondary School in the Abbots Langley area and that has been identified in the Local Plan making process yet no site has been allocated.
With a large number of parents already having to take their children to schools in West Watford, Rickmansworth, St Albans or Bushey thus contrary to the council's climate change agenda there is now an urgent need to identify a site and get on building one.
In addition, Herts County Council was "given" a site off Woodside Road by Taylor Wimpey back in 2016 for a new primary school. Everyone thought it would be built soon after the Fraser Crescent development that was finished in 2018. It has not, so again local children have lost out. Now HCC say there are still no immediate plans to build the primary school. This is wrong.
Please sign our petition demanding they get on with it.
Petition to Hertfordshire County Council
We, the undersigned call upon Hertfordshire County Council as the education authority, to speedily identify a site for a much-needed Secondary School in the Abbots Langley area and progress to building one to meet current and expected needs as soon as possible. Furthermore, we insist that the County Council proceed with building the Primary School on the Woodside Road site, which was allocated to you specifically for this purpose.
